By all means frolic along Priest Point Park’s pristine shoreline while you are at the Sierra Club’s annual picnic, which will be held Wednesday, Aug. 23 at 5 p.m. at Kitchen 1. But truth be told? The main attraction of this free event is interacting with candidates for local office. Any candidate who wants the support of environmental voters really should show up.
The Sierra Club’s website says, “All like minded groups, candidates and brief speakers are welcome. Burgers (beef and veggie), hot dogs, refreshments served. Bring a side dish.”
Also bring your good questions. And feel free to follow up if the candidate’s initial answer is, “Mumble, mumble, this hotdog is great!”
