Earlier this year Chris Stearns suggested that we add the Western Canadian Wilderness Committee — now simply called the Wilderness Committee — to the regional civic group links. The Vancouver, B.C.-based nonprofit looks like an interesting model for a regional activist group.
Although the committee’s focus appears to be using the courts to protect pecific wilderness areas, they also display decent research chops and recognize the importance of photography and videos in cultivating public support. They also have a virtual store that SPEECH would do well to emulate.
Thank you for the tip, Chris. Shoot us an email at email@example.com if you would like to suggest additions to our links.
